To Our Patients, Our Customers:

When dealing with the Other Medical Clinic Staff, you should expect that:

  1. Our staff will maintain the confidentiality of every aspect of your health, illness, insurance, and financial status . Within the framework of your insurance requirements and information needed for testing or referral to another physician, we will be as discrete as possible.
  2. Our staff will maintain a professional attitude, while being friendly and making you feel as much at ease as possible.
  3. Each member of our staff will treat you with respect.   
  4. We will present up-to-date recommendations and alternatives for your care and treatment, based upon education and experience.
  5. We will NOTwithhold information from you, the patient, unless you ask us to do so, or if, as in an emergency, we do not have time to explain.
  6. You, the patient, will be given the opportunity to explain your problem or situation and ask questions.
  7. We will give good-faith estimates of the costs, and impacts of various treatments, upon request.
  8. The Other Medical Clinic staff will keep our promises about calling, doing, sending, arranging, or researching in order to meet your functional and emotional  needs.
  9. We will speak your language or provide an interpreter.

Responsibilities of Our Patients, Our Customers

As a patient of  Dr. Knight's or the Other Medical Clinic, your have the responsibility to 

Educate us about your symptoms, problems or issues. You may think, "She's the Doctor or Nurse, (or Business Manager). She ought to know." But this is not the time for quizzes. The more you tell us, the better able we are to diagnose and treat you. 

•Tell us if you did not fill the prescription we gave you.  

•Tell us if you have changed any of your medication doses or if you are not   taking
one or all of your medications correctly. Hiding this information is dangerous, as you may be given more medicine that you really don't need.

•Tell us if you are taking medication or health foods from someone else. These may be causing some problems or affecting your medical condition, or the way the medication is working in your body.

•Tell us the truth if you are still smoking or drinking or whatever it is that still has a stronghold on your health. Medicines are metabolized between smokers and non-smokers and between drinkers and non-drinkers differently so we may need to change your dose of medications.


•Tell us if you are not going to follow or if you have not been following the instructions or program we have prescribed.

•Tell us what beliefs or feelings you have that made you be non-compliant.

•Tell us if there is anything we can do to overcome this or if you are willing to try something else or in a different way.

 

Be sure you know the consequences of not following the advice given by Dr. Knight or her staff at the Other Medical Clinic.
